  • WAS Tight End #86

Zach Ertz caught 6-of-8 passes for 38 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.
Ertz’s eight targets were second on the team to Noah Brown (10). The veteran tight end had a rather pedestrian fantasy day until he hauled in a four-yard touchdown pass with just over three minutes left in the game. He’s now seen seven or more targets in three-straight games and will be a solid TE2 streaming option in Week 13 against the Titans.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #17
Terry McLaurin caught 5-of-6 targets for 102 yards and a touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.
With 21 seconds left in the game, McLaurin caught a pass along the sideline and turned upfield to blow past every Cowboys defender in front of him. All Dallas needed to do was tackle McLaurin for the game to be over, but with the defense focused on the sidelines, McLaurin cut back in to the surprise of everybody and ripped off the long score. His touchdown would have been enough to tie the game at 27-27 were it not for a missed extra point by Austin Seibert. McLaurin was on track for an underwhelming day before luck boxing into the long score, but he has the makings of a solid WR2 in next week’s game against the Titans.
  • WAS Running Back #8
Brian Robinson ran five times for 13 yards in the Commanders’ Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.
It was an odd game for Robinson, who left with an apparent leg/ankle injury after the first play of the game only to return to start the Commanders’ second drive. Robinson had his leg/ankle rolled up by a defender on what appeared to be an ugly play. His return to the field came as a surprise, but the third-year back wasn’t heard from after the first-half. His absence was likely due to his injury, but we’ll wait for the team to confirm that in the coming days. If Robinson is unable to go in Week 13, the Commanders could be looking at Chris Rodriguez and/or Jeremy McNichols as their lead backs with Austin Ekeler in concussion protocol.
  • WAS Running Back #30
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Austin Ekeler has entered concussion protocol.
Ekeler saw an increased role with Brian Robinson sidelined due to an apparent leg/ankle injury he suffered in the first quarter. Ekeler ran nine times for 22 yards and caught two passes for another two yards but exited late in the game with a concussion after taking a brutal hit on a kick return. The veteran running back remained down on the ground for several minutes before eventually being helped to his feet and off the field. It was a scary scene that had an early appearance of something much worse. Ekeler will need to clear protocol if he’s to suit up in Week 13 against the Titans.
  • WAS Quarterback #5
Jayden Daniels completed 25-of-38 passes for 275 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Commanders’ 34-26, Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.
It was a tale of two halves for Daniels, with most of his highlights coming in the final few minutes of the fourth quarter. He completed just 9-of-16 passes for 57 yards in the first half but punched in a 17-yard rushing touchdown on the opening drive of the third quarter, finishing the day with a rushing line of 7-74-1. Then he led three-straight three-and-outs and a “one-and-out” thanks in part to a lost fumble by John Bates as the Commanders suddenly found themselves down 20-9. Daniels led a 69-yard drive that he capped with a four-yard touchdown to Zach Ertz to cut the lead to 20-17, only to see that erased by a 95-yard kick return by KaVontae Turpin. With 21 seconds left in the game, Daniels hit Terry McLaurin for an unprecedented 86-yard score that was made possible by a Cowboy’s defense that refused to tackle McLaurin and end the game. Daniels struggled for most of this one, sailing several throws on the afternoon while also taking four sacks. Sunday’s game was supposed to be a get-right game for Daniels and the offense, instead it only left us with more questions as the team heads into Week 12’s game against the Titans. It’s been rough as of late, but Daniels should be a solid QB1 option in next week’s home game.
  • WAS Running Back #8
Brian Robinson (leg) returned for Week 12’s game against the Cowboys.
Robinson didn’t miss a drive after exiting with a leg injury on the Commanders’ first play of the game. The third-year back suffered what appeared to be a nasty leg/ankle injury after a defender rolled up on him. After a short trip to the bench and then the locker room, Robinson was back out on the ensuing drive and immediately took a carry for a seven-yard gain.
  • WAS Running Back #8
Brian Robinson (leg) exited in the first quarter of the Commanders’ Week 12 game against the Cowboys.
On his first carry of the game, Robinson had his leg/ankle rolled up on by the defender, where it appeared trapped for a brief moment. After being down for several minutes, Robinson was able to get up and leave under his own power before leaving for the locker room. It seems unlikely he would return in this one.
  • WAS Kicker #3
Austin Seibert is active for Week 12 against the Cowboys.
Seibert has missed the last two games due to a hip injury but will be back kicking for the Commanders in Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. Seibert has been one of the most valuable players on Washington’s roster this season, converting 25-of-27 field goals while going a perfect 22-for-22 on his extra points. He should have plenty of opportunities in Sunday’s game against the Cowboys porous defense.
  • WAS Defensive Back #13
Commanders declared CB Emmanuel Forbes, QB Jeff Driskel, CB Marshon Lattimore, LB Dominique Hampton, and OG Chris Paul inactive for Week 12 against the Cowboys.
Unlike the Cowboys, the Commanders enter Week 12 at nearly full-strength. While they’re still waiting for the debut Lattimore, who they traded for at this year’s deadline, the Commanders will have all of their core players intact against a woeful Cowboys team.
  • WAS Kicker #3
Commanders K Austin Seibert (hip) is questionable to play in Week 12 against the Cowboys.
Seibert was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but upgraded to Full Participant status on Friday. The fact that the team still felt it necessary to label him as questionable suggests they may choose to give him one more week to get right.
