Tyrese Maxey finished Sunday’s loss to the Clippers with 17 points (5-of-13 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and three 3-pointers in 30 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Clippers.

Maxey heading into Week 6 as a 4th-round player in 9-cat formats isn’t the worst thing in fantasy basketball. The absences of Paul George and Joel Embiid have meant more responsibility for the 76ers point guard, negatively impacting his efficiency. The good news for fantasy managers is that they’ve only taken a hit in field-goal percentage, as Maxey is averaging just 1.6 turnovers per game. The 76ers only play twice in Week 6, beginning with the Rockets on Wednesday.

Kelly Oubre tallied 12 points (6-of-11 FGs), five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocked shots in 31 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Clippers.

It’s a good thing plus/minus isn’t a scoring category in fantasy basketball because Oubre tossed up a minus 40 on Sunday. The blame does fall solely at his feet, but Sunday’s performance was a microcosm of Philadelphia’s season thus far. With Paul George (knee) sidelined, Oubre should remain in the starting lineup until that changes. Unfortunately, he hasn’t proven to be the most valuable fantasy option, whether starting or coming off the bench.

Jared McCain shot 3-of-15 from the field and 10-of-12 from the foul line in Sunday’s loss to the Clippers, scoring 18 points with four assists and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

McCain’s streak of consecutive games with 20 points or more ended on Sunday, with the rookie scoring 18. While the point total was respectable, fantasy managers looking for solid field-goal percentage numbers took a hit in this one. The absences of Paul George and Joel Embiid make McCain a must-roster player, even if there’s a chance he’ll have the occasional bad night.

Guerschon Yabusele got the start on Friday and contributed 10 points (4-of-12 FGs), 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and two triples against Brooklyn.

With Joel Embiid sidelined for this game, Yabusele got the starting nod in his place, not Andre Drummond (10/6/1/1/1). Brooklyn starts Ben Simmons at center and brings Nic Claxton and Noah Clowney off the bench, which certainly may have been a factor. Embiid has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Clippers, which means more minutes for both Yabusele and Drummond. Assuming Drummond starts, he should be the prioritized streaming option, but Yabusele should still play enough to make an impact in the box score.

Tyrese Maxey lit up the Nets with 26 points (11-of-17 FGs), three rebounds, five assists, four steals and three 3-pointers on Friday.

Maxey’s workload is still being managed, which resulted in him only playing 27 minutes in this game. However, the Nets didn’t really have any answers for him. He shot an incredibly high percentage and led the team in assists without turning the ball over. Maxey’s first game back was a quieter one, but this performance was one of his best of the season. Efficiency was an issue early on this season with Joel Embiid and Paul George out, but the emergence of Jared McCain has made things a bit easier for Maxey. He’ll look to close out the week with another strong performance on Sunday against the Clippers.

Jared McCain led the 76ers with 30 points (11-of-20 FGs), six rebounds, three assists, two steals and six 3-pointers in a 113-98 win over the Nets on Friday.

McCain has gotten off to an excellent start to his rookie season, and Friday’s game was one of his best. The team will be without Joel Embiid and Paul George for at least one more game after this, and Tyrese Maxey is still on a minutes restriction. That has forced McCain to take on a larger workload, and he has delivered. He has had at least 20 points and three 3-pointers in seven straight games, which ties Jalen Green’s rookie record. McCain missed the first free throw of his career in this game, but he has still been hitting shots at an incredible rate for a rookie.

Embiid is receiving treatment on his knee, and the team will provide an update early next week. Clearly, his return after his three-game suspension didn’t mean that he was fully healthy. It’s unclear how much longer he’ll remain out, but Guerschon Yabusele started in his place on Friday, with Andre Drummond filling the backup center minutes.
