6moIsaiah Joe (left calf contusion) is questionable for Monday’s game against Sacramento.

Joe did not play in either of Oklahoma City’s two games in Week 5, with Cason Wallace replacing him in the starting lineup. If Joe plays, Wallace’s minutes should not decrease too much, as the Thunder will be without Alex Caruso (hip). Ajay Mitchell may take a slight hit, but at best, he’s a deep-league option.

6moAlex Caruso (right hip strain) is out for Monday’s game against the Kings.

Caruso aggravated a prior hip injury during Wednesday’s win over Portland. Oklahoma City hasn’t played since, but the time off hasn’t been enough to get Caruso back to full strength (or close enough to play). Isaiah Joe (calf) is questionable for Monday’s game and can absorb some of the minutes if made available.

6moOusmane Dieng (fractured right ring finger) will be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks.

Dieng injured his finger recently while playing with Oklahoma City’s G League affiliate. His absence will not impact the Thunder rotation, as he was on the outside looking in, even with Chet Holmgren (hip) sidelined.

6moIsaiah Hartenstein had 13 points (6-of-12 FGs), 14 rebounds, three assists and four blocks against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

Hartenstein missed the beginning of the season with a fractured left hand, but made his return Wednesday, which was ahead of schedule. He came off the bench and played 29 minutes, but could end up starting in the near future. Hartenstein was pretty much the same player he was on the Knicks last year as he pulled down 14 rebounds and blocked four shots in his OKC debut. He was +16 in 29 minutes in the 10-point win. Hartenstein should only improve on this performance as he gets his legs back under him and eventually moves into the starting lineup.
Jalen Williams

OKC Small Forward #8

6moJalen Williams had a full stat line with 30 points (11-of-19 FGs), seven rebounds, eight assists, two blocks, two steals and five 3-pointers against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

Williams continues to see some center duties with Chet Holmgren out and had another big rebounding effort. He also dished eight assists and was two assists and three rebounds away from a 30-point triple-double. Even with Isaiah Hartenstein’s return, Williams has a big role for OKC and is delivering a breakout fantasy season. The Thunder are off for the rest of the week, but have four games in Week 6, starting with the Kings on Monday.

OKC Point Guard #2

6moShai Gilgeous-Alexander had 28 points (7-of-19 FGs), five rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in the Thunder’s 109-99 victory over the Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

SGA only shot 7-of-19 from the field and missed both of his 3-point attempts, but made up for it by going 14-of-14 from the free throw line. He was +7 in 39 minutes in the 10-point victory. OKC got one of its players back Wednesday in Isaiah Hartenstein, but will continue to rely heavily on SGA without Chet Holmgren in the lineup. The Thunder are off for the rest of the week, but have four games in Week 6, starting with the Kings on Monday.

6moThunder coach Mark Daigneault said after Wednesday’s win over the Trail Blazers that Alex Caruso aggravated a prior hip injury.

Caruso fell hard on his hip during the second quarter of Wednesday’s game. While he got to his feet and set a bone-crushing screen seconds later, that may have been the play when Caruso aggravated the hip injury. He missed three games last week due to a sore right hip, but the schedule may work in his favor. Oklahoma City doesn’t play again until Monday in Sacramento, so Caruso will have time to recover.

6moIsaiah Harteinstein (left hand fracture) is available for Wednesday’s game against Portland.

Hartenstein is back ahead of schedule, which is excellent news for a Thunder team without Chet Holmgren (hip). The offseason signing will figure prominently in the rotation, likely as a starter. Still, fantasy managers should anticipate iHart being given a game or two to get his conditioning up to par before he takes on a full workload.

Hartenstein suffered the hand injury shortly before the regular season tipped off, and he has apparently progressed more quickly than the five-week recovery timeline he was given. It’s unclear if he’ll be brought along slowly, but with Chet Holmgren sidelined, OKC may not have that luxury.

6moJalen Williams had 27 points (13-of-26 FGs), nine rebounds, six assists and five steals against the Spurs on Tuesday.

Williams is seeing additional rebounding opportunities with Chet Holmgren out and was one rebound away from a double-double. He also had five steals on the night. Williams wasn’t particularly efficient as he had 27 points on 26 shots and missed all six of his 3-point attempts. He’ll continue to have a healthy role for Oklahoma City with Holmgren out for the foreseeable future. The Thunder are back on the floor Wednesday against the Trail Blazers in the second night of a back-to-back.
