Cade Cunningham (left sacroiliac joint sprain) is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Raptors.

Cunningham sat out Saturday’s loss to the Magic and appears likely to remain sidelined on Monday. Malik Beasley filled the void in the starting lineup and accounted for 18 points, four assists, and four 3-pointers. He should be streamed as long as Cunningham remains sidelined.

Jaden Ivey amassed 19 points (6-of-16 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block, and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Magic.

With Cade Cunningham sidelined, Ivey took on the point guard responsibilities on Saturday night. While the two assists were disappointing, given the role change, Ivey led the Pistons in points and rebounds. He heads into Week 6 ranked outside the top 175 in 9-cat formats but remains rostered in 85% of Yahoo leagues due to his status as a starter. Detroit plays four games in Week 6, beginning with the Raptors on Monday.

But Saturday’s DNP-CD should not dissuade deep-league managers from stashing Thompson, as he brings a valuable skill set to the table in category leagues.

While Thompson will undoubtedly be under some restrictions if cleared, his defensive ability will make him a solid asset in category leagues.

Cunningham exited just before overtime during Thursday’s loss to Charlotte, and now he’ll remain out for at least one more game. Wendell Moore Jr. replaced him in overtime, but it’s unclear if J.B. Bickerstaff will turn to him to start in his place. Jaden Ivey should take over playmaking duties, though there will be plenty of extra minutes to go around. Ausar Thompson could make his season debut, which would help make up for Cunningham’s absence.

Malik Beasley provided a boost off the bench with 16 points (5-of-15 FGs), six rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers against the Hornets on Thursday.

Beasley wasn’t able to maintain his streak of 20-point games, but he was able to extend his streak of games with at least four 3-pointers to seven. His value in 9-cat leagues has come strictly from points and 3-pointers, though he has played a large enough role to contribute a little value in other categories. He has thoroughly outplayed Tim Hardaway Jr. lately, but it doesn’t seem like J.B. Bickerstaff wants to swap their roles. However, Beasley has still played plenty of minutes, so managers should continue to ride the hot hand.
Tobias Harris

Tobias Harris lit up Charlotte with 26 points (10-of-16 FGs), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and six 3-pointers on Thursday.

Harris is starting to figure things out in Detroit. He had his best game of the season, setting a new season-high for both scoring and 3-pointers. Harris has been a solid player in 9-cat leagues for a while because of his well-rounded production, but his numbers have been slightly down early on this year. Hopefully this is a performance that will get him going. His next opportunity will be in Orlando on Saturday, which is a game that could be played without Cade Cunningham (hip), which could result in more shots for Harris.
