PJ Washington had 21 points (7-of-14 FGs), 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Heat on Sunday.

Washington has consistently stepped up offensively when Luka Doncic is out of the lineup and more is expected from him. He scored 21 points on 14 shots and had a double-double. It was basically a repeat performance from Friday, when he had 22 points and a double-double against the Nuggets. The Mavs have four games in Week 6, starting with the Hawks on Monday. Doncic is set to miss a few more games and Washington is certainly worth streaming until Luka returns.

Kyrie Irving had 27 points (9-of-21 FGs), four rebounds, six assists and three 3-pointers against the Heat on Sunday.

With Luka Doncic out of the lineup on Sunday, Kyrie was the No. 1 option on offense for Dallas and led the team with 27 points. He took 21 shots and was only 3-of-12 on attempts from behind the 3-point line. Still, Irving had six assists and was +5 in 39 minutes in the overtime loss. The Mavs have four games in Week 6, starting with the Hawks on Monday in the second game of a back-to-back.

Gafford is good to go and should take on a workload similar to his 27 minutes on the court in Friday’s win over the Nuggets. He and Dereck Lively II provide reliable late-round fantasy value but limit each other’s fantasy ceilings in Dallas.

Gafford played 27 productive minutes off the bench in Friday’s win over Denver, and a potential absence would undoubtedly impact the Mavericks’ rotation and fantasy basketball. While Dereck Lively II would pick up a few minutes, he isn’t guaranteed to shoulder most of the workload. Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell would also be in position for rotation minutes, limiting Lively’s fantasy ceiling.

PJ Washington recorded a double-double on Friday with 22 points (8-of-15 FGs), 13 rebounds, one assist and three steals in a 123-120 win over Denver.

With Luka Doncic sidelined, Washington was able to step up like he did during Luka’s other absence this season. He had a monster 27/17 when Doncic missed Sunday’s game, and he followed that up with his third double-double of the season. Luka is set to miss at least a week, which means at least three more games without Doncic in the lineup. Washington has been at his best with Luka out, so he should be worth streaming until their superstar returns.

Kyrie Irving posted a full line on Friday with 19 points (7-of-19 FGs), six rebounds, six assists, one steal, one block and one triple against the Nuggets.

Irving was the primary source of offense in this game with Luka Doncic sidelined, but he wasn’t able to get much going after halftime. He had a layup early in the third and then knocked down two free throws at the end of the game to seal the win. 15 of his 19 points came before the break. Irving’s first game of Luka’s extended absence wasn’t great, but he shouldn’t shoot this poorly often. This was only his second time shooting below 40% from the floor this season, and he should bounce back against Miami on Sunday.

Naji Marshall provided a boost off the bench with 26 points (11-of-15 FGs), one rebound, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers against Denver on Friday.

Marshall’s tenure with the Mavs started off slow, but he has figured things out this month. He has scored in double figures in three straight games and set a new season-high for scoring in this game. The injury that kept PJ Washington sidelined for a bit and allowed Marshall to start kickstarted his production, but he played well even with Washington back in the mix. However, he hasn’t been able to contribute value in multiple categories with consistency, which makes him difficult to roster.
Luka Doncic

According to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania, Luka Doncic (right wrist strain) is set to miss at least one week of action.

It’s unclear whether this injury could cost Doncic more than one week, but he’s only missed one contest so far this season. His numbers, while still elite, are down across the board in what’s been a middling season for the Mavericks so far. Kyrie Irving will get a chance to power the offense as the team’s clear lead guard in the meantime. Quentin Grimes is a likely candidate to step into the starting lineup.

Some Washington managers were worried this would happen when it was announced that Luka Doncic (knee) would play. After going off for 27 points as one of the main options on Sunday, Washington’s output took a significant hit with Dallas’ starting lineup intact. The good news is that he remains a 7th-round player in 9-cat formats, but Washington’s ceiling is limited when the Mavericks are at full strength.

Kyrie Irving amassed 18 points (6-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, seven assists, and four 3-pointers in 27 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Pelicans.

Although his minutes were lower than usual due to the game being a blowout, Irving provided solid value in points, assists, 3-pointers, and percentages on Tuesday. He remains a top-10 player in 9-cat formats and a top-20 player in 8-cat. Given Irving’s track record, it’s understandable if some managers anxiously await an extended absence for the star guard. But it hasn’t happened yet
